How to Charge Arlo Camera?

How to know your Arlo camera needs charging?

To confirm if your Arlo camera needs charging, you can check the battery level on the Arlo app. You can launch the Arlo app and check the camera status. If a camera needs charging, you will see a message next to its name. Ensure you identify the correct camera. To make this simple, you can name your camera according to its location. Also, you can get accurate battery level information by accessing the Settings page for the camera

How to charge the battery on your Arlo camera?

You can use the USB charging cable that comes with the camera packaging to charge Arlo camera. Alternatively, you can also use the solar charger if you are using your camera outdoors. Or, you can also use an Arlo Dual Charging Station that can help you charge two batteries simultaneously.

Here are some steps on how to charge Arlo camera:

  • Insert the battery into the camera itself.
  • Pull down the rubber flap on top of the USB charging port. Doing so will reveal the charging port beneath.
  • Plug the USB cable into this port and connect the other end to the power adapter. Now connect the power adapter to the power outlet and turn on the power supply.
  • If you are using Arlo Pro 2 or Arlo Ultra models, the charger connects using a magnetic connection rather than a micro-USB cable connection.
  • Once you have connected the camera to a reliable power source, you can allow some time till the charging completes and gets to 100%. It can take about 2-4 hours to charge completely.
  • Once the charging is complete, the LED light on the camera will turn solid blue. Alternatively, you can keep a track of the charging status via the Arlo app.
  • If the Arlo camera does not charge or you face the Arlo camera not charging error, you can check the USB cable and the adapter you are using. Also, check if the power source is supplying the required voltage to charge the camera.

Arlo Camera Charging using the Charging Station

The Arlo camera charging station is supplied with a USB cable and a wall adapter. Plug the smaller side of the cable into the charging station and the larger side into the adapter. You can now plug the wall adapter into the power outlet.

  • Take the Arlo camera’s battery out. Press the latch on the camera down with a finger and unlock it. While you hold the latch, use the other hand to lift up the outer casing and reveal the battery.
  • Take the battery out by pressing the latch holding the battery. Now, slide the battery into the charging bay until it clicks.
  • Turn on the power supply and you’ll notice a solid yellow light on the station. Leave the battery in until the LED turns solid green.
  • Once it does, remove the battery by pressing it.

If you find your Arlo battery not charging, check if the battery is securely placed on the charging station.

Arlo camera not charging

If your Arlo camera is not charging, you can always follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  • Ensure that the power adapter cable is inserted fully into the AC power adapter port.
  • Make sure that the USB port cap is sealed tightly before you place and install your camera outside.
  • Try removing and reinserting the battery and power adapter cable into the camera.
